On March 31st, the expanded meeting of the Party Group of CNOOC was held to thoroughly study and implement the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspections in Guizhou and Yunnan. Wang Dongjin, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of CNOOC, presided over the meeting and put forward requirements.

Wang Dongjin emphasized the need to focus on the main responsibilities and businesses, maintain strategic determination, continue to increase oil and gas reserves and production, make more contributions to ensuring national energy security, and at the same time, promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, accelerate the pace of updating and transforming old equipment and facilities, and promote the high-quality development of the company to a new level. We must vigorously layout and develop strategic emerging industries and future industries, especially focusing on the adjustment of the industrial structure in the middle and lower reaches and the development of new energy industries. We must scientifically formulate medium - and long-term development plans for strategic emerging industries, and demonstrate new achievements in cultivating and developing new quality productivity of marine energy. It is necessary to actively integrate into the major national strategies, deeply integrate the company's business into the major regional strategies such as the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, focus on high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", deepen international energy cooperation, solidly carry out targeted assistance and counterpart assistance to Tibet, and highlight the role of central enterprises in serving the national strategy. We must vigorously promote the leapfrog project of green development, continue to deepen the work of ecological environment protection, implement and refine the company's "Five Year Action Plan for Ecological Environment Protection", and build a solid foundation for green development.
